How do I book an ILSI program?
We want to make applying for ILSI as easy as possible. Please choose one of the two following options to get your application process started:
An email confirmation will be sent to you once we receive and review your application. When you receive the confirmation email, and you have paid the registration fee, your spot in the program is secured. Additional information will be sent to you at a later time.
ILSI offers a wonderful way for you to instantly save on your tuition by booking 3 months ahead of the program start date. This “Early Bird” discount will automatically reduce your tuition cost by 100 USD!
Can I partake in multiple courses?
At ILSI you have the opportunity to study abroad for two or four weeks. A two week program is called a “session”.
For students interested in a change of environment, you can extend for 1, 2, 3, or 4 additional sessions of ILSI to be combined with the many summer courses we offer in the U.K. at Oxford and Cambridge. This is a unique opportunity offered only at ILSI. We also have the exclusive opportunity to offer delegates a unique week-long extension option in Spain. This includes travel to Seville, Barcelona, and Madrid, lectures focusing on Spanish history, politics, and business, as well as cultural activities including flamenco dancing and tapas tours.
Who can participate in ILSI?ILSI programs are designed for college students, graduates, and working professionals.
What kind of students do I join while at ILSI?The programme welcomes delegates from all over the world, and we have hosted participants from more than 90 nationalities across CBL International programs, including North America, South America, Europe, Middle East, India, Far East, and Australia and New Zealand. You will experience a truly international summer.
Are there any prerequisites for taking part in ILSI?When selecting your subject, you would either already be a student in this subject or considering taking subject in the near future, as prior knowledge will be of assistance. However if you have never studied the subject before, having a strong interest will be beneficial and will allow you to engage in the subject matter. In order to gain the most from the courses, we encourage delegates to engage fully in lectures and participate fully in class discussions. Taking account of the diversity of students’ disciplinary backgrounds, ILSI is designed to be informative for all attending delegates.
What language are the lectures in?All ILSI programs are held in English. In case you are not a native speaker, our courses offer an excellent opportunity for you to improve your English.
We expect delegates to be able to communicate in English and participate fully in lectures, with fellow delegates, and program staff.
Are there mandatory examinations?For each course you attend at Ivy League Summer Institute, there will be an assessment component. If you attend a 2-week session, you will have 1 assessment piece. The results of any assessments will be included on your academic transcript which you will receive during the final farewell dinner at the certificate ceremony.
What happens outside of lectures?
Apart from the stimulating lectures you’ll receive by qualified professors and tutors, participants are kept fully engaged with a variety of extra-curricular activities, excursions to famous places and historical landmarks, company visits, and guest lectures organized by ILSI. It’ll be one of the most memorable summers you’ll ever have, we promise.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance and achievement?You will be presented with a certificate of attendance and achievement at the end of the program. This is awarded to students that complete and attend at least 90% of lectures, company visits, and other student projects and activities. Additionally, an academic transcript will be handed out to you. This academic transcript may be used for receiving credits at your home university based on their requirements.
Will I receive credits for ILSI?Delegates of ILSI can receive credits from their home university. The workload of ILSI is equivalent to 2 ECTS/ 1 U.S. credits each week. We encourage participants to contact the study-abroad office in your home university to learn about the regulations and rules applicable. We’ll gladly provide you with all documentation and communication to help you receive credits for our program. There is also the option that academic credit can be obtained through one of WorldStrides’ university partners.
Arrival & Departures
Do I need a visa to travel to the USA?Depending on the type of passport you hold, you may need a visa to travel to the U.S. Learn more about visa requirements on the U.S.’s Border Agency website. It is the delegate’s responsibility to ensure they have obtained the correct documents for travel to and within the US.
How do I get to Cambridge, MA?
ILSI offers delegates the option of roundtrip transportation for 200 USD if arriving into the preferred airport and at the preferred times. Alternatively you can travel to campus using the following methods:
If you are flying into Boston’s Logan Airport, use the subway (or the “T” as locals call it) or take a taxi from the airport to Harvard Square, Cambridge (Address: North Hall Dorm- 1651 Massachusettes Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138).
Taking a taxi is a convenient way to get from Logan Airport to Harvard University. The ride takes about 30 minutes and the fare is approximately $40-50. Ask the driver to take you to the corner of Brattle Street and Appian Way in Cambridge (across from the American Repertory Theater, outside Harvard Square) (Address: North Hall Dorm- 1651 Massachusettes Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138)
Go to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) website for a subway map and schedule.
Take the Silver Line (MBTA bus/subway) inbound to South Station. The Silver Line has a stop located outside of all terminals.
At South Station, get on the Red Line northbound toward Alewife Station. Take this train to the Harvard Square station.
When should I arrive in Cambridge, Massachusetts?
Sunday is the normal day of arrival for all our programs in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our staff members will welcome you and go over the check-in procedures together with you. The general check-in time is 2:00 PM. In case you arrive later than 6:00 PM, please inform us about your detailed travel arrangements.

What happens on the day of arrival?
The day of arrival is generally reserved for participants to check-in to the program. Students that have booked accommodation with us will receive their keys at this time. Once all participants are checked-in and have had some time to adjust and mingle, you will get the chance to meet the program staff including the directors and residential advisors.
As some delegates may arrive late, a welcome meet and greet will be held on the next day, Monday evening.
What happens on the day of departure?
Ivy League Summer Institute will generally end on a Saturday. All participants are invited to the “Farewell Dinner” on Friday where certificates will be awarded. Please check-out of the program and dormitory rooms before 10 AM on the day of departure.
Where will I be staying during the program?
For the entire duration of your program you will stay in rooms on the Harvard Law School Campus, eat meals in the University’s cafeteria as well as attend lectures and interact with your peers on campus. This is a fantastic way to fully immerse yourself in the US Ivy League college experience. Delegates are accommodated in the Gropius Complex of Harvard Campus in single rooms with shared bathroom facilities.
Please be aware that dormitory rooms come in different size, shape, and style. Rooms are randomly assigned to individual delegates. In the case you are not satisfied with your room, there are no exchanges or refunds.
What is the Full Board Option?
ILSI does not offer a full board option however accommodation includes daily breakfast and on selected occasions some meals throughout the program will be provided. This will be communicated with delegates at the start of the program.
Can I use the kitchen and laundry facilities?
Unfortunately, cooking is not allowed inside the dormitory rooms or college kitchens. Laundry facilities are available for use and charges may apply.
Are the colleges secure?
At ILSI, we take security and your safety seriously. Your accommodation is situated in safe locations and we make sure that program staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Campus dorms include safety features such as key cards to access the building, security cameras and campus security officers.
Payments & Cancellation
What are my payment options?
To reserve your spot at ILSI, a non-refundable registration fee of 250 USD is required. You can either make a full payment with your registration fee or pay the remainder of your tuition fee at a later time either through an invoice or approved payment plan.
In the case you submit an application within 3 months of a program’s start date, you may be required to make a full payment.
*Please note that the 250 USD deposit is not refundable under any circumstances.
You can choose between the following payment options:

- Bank transfer (ask your bank about possible transfer charges)
- Payment plan (conditions apply)
Precise payment instructions will be given to you in the invoice or payment plan statement.
What is included in the tuition and accommodation fee?
The tuition and accommodation fee includes:
- Lectures & seminars including materials & hand-outs
- ILSI certificate of attendance and achievement as well as an academic transcript (see requirements)
- Delegates are accommodated in campus dormitories on the Harvard Law School Campus in the Gropius Complex. Accommodation includes a single room and shared bathroom facilities as standard.
- Breakfast on campus
- Internet connection (subject to availability)
- Excursions and social activities
- Visiting tourist attractions & historical landmarks
- Suggested optional activities
- Corporate visits to US and international companies, banks, law firms, and other institutions
- Evening talks

What is the refund policy?
You can cancel your participation with ILSI at anytime, please be aware of the cancellation policy and terms below:
